In a hand basket, we’re told we go,
By those who lead, or so they show.
Old folks in charge, with power grand,
But things seem to slip from their hand.
Going to hell in a hand basket,
Seems the plan, don’t need to ask it.
Leaders of old, are they to blame?
For the world we know, it’s not the same.
Promises made, but seldom kept,
The country’s future, it’s inept.
We watch it all, with growing fright,
As things seem to slip into the night.
